Biases, whether conscious or unconscious, are shaped by our experiences, culture and lifestyles. They are simply an extension of our diversity as individuals.

The aim of this module is to help you to:
Understand what we mean by unconscious bias.
Recognise unconscious bias in the workplace.
Consider how organisational bias occurs in the workplace.
Manage unconscious bias.
Describe patterns of behaviours they may encounter during different interactions.
Explain the difference between warning and danger signs.
Give examples of impact factors.
Describe the use of distance when dealing with conflict.
Explain the use of reasonable force as it applies to conflict resolution.
Describe different methods for dealing with possible conflict situations.
