Emergency planning

A major incident can strike any organisation, large or small. It can arrive in the shape of storms, flood, fire, terrorist activity, action by pressure groups, or as seen in 2019/20, the COVID-19 global pandemic.

If the incident is large enough it can put the business out of action for a short or long period.

Whether the business recovers or not depends on what advance planning has taken place.

This means taking action before and not after a major incident occurs.

To remain in business after a major incident occurs requires careful preplanning, therefore, having a Business Continuity Management (BCM) plan in place is essential for all organisations, large or small.

This elearning module will provide details on the key areas to consider when planning for a major incident and preparing a BCM plan.
