Vision Express – Staff Training Programme

Upon starting work at Vision Express, new employees are put through a rigorous training programme covering everything from company background and customer interaction skills to specific training on the anatomy of the eye, visual defects and pathology through to the examination, optics, lens types, frames and so on. This training used to be done entirely in the classroom and took several months to complete for the average employee and required a huge amount of organisation and input from large numbers of staff.

Vision Express wanted to streamline the entire process in order to reduce the time it took to train staff, reduce the costs of delivery and improve the timely access to the training. Using e-learning in a blended approach to supplement classroom training was the obvious choice and so Vision Express partnered with Dynamic to develop over 20 e-learning modules, and the rest as they say, is history.

And one final point to add to the story, Vision Express saved £½ million pounds per year in training costs.
