GE Consumer Finance

Document Sharing

Background

GE Capital Consumer Finance planned to implement an internal system, Workplace 4.0 across the UK and Ireland, to facilitate effective document sharing internally, to approximately 5000 users over a number of sites.

Key Driver

Workplace 3.0 had been utilised by a subsection of staff and was deemed unpopular by the majority of users. In order to increase the uptake of the next version, Workplace 4.0, GE Capital Consumer Finance commissioned Dynamic Business Services to assist them with their requirement for marketing support to improve perception of the new product.

As a result an integrated marketing campaign involving Flash movies and posters was implemented, prior to the launch of the system.

Dynamic Business Services also developed online training materials using a simulated Workplace 4.0 package, and using "On Top Helpers" to guide the learner through the actual processes when using the Live application.

Benefits

  • Strong and creative image of the system stimulated interest from staff prior to system launch.
  • Allowed smooth transition from Workplace 3.0 to 4.0 for existing users.
  • Clear instructions increased correct usage of the system and reduced calls to help desk.
  • Quick return on investment with immediate increase in usage of Workplace system.
  • Increased staff efficiency by users accessing training modules at time to suit.
  • Cost savings by materials available for refreshing users or training new starters.
